In progress

We are disabling web traffic now and withdrawing our Anycast routing in Chicago and Ashburn. DNS resolution in the midwest and east coast regions will be slower during this window and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Update

During the outage window, our website and API will be responding with HTTP code 503 to indicate we are unavailable. As soon as the work is completed and verified, we will begin responding normally. This also means our iOS client will not work during this outage window.

Scheduled

Our hosting provider will be performing software upgrades to our network firewall hardware in the Chicago, IL and Ashburn, VA data centers this Friday. We expect this upgrade to take up to 1 hour and will cause an outage for the primary DNSimple Website and API. DNS updates (not resolution) will not go out during this window. Ahead of the maintenance, we will temporarily disable DNS routing for these regions to prevent DNS resolution issues.
